Unheard: Emilio Modeste & Friends

  • Domino Park 15 River St Brooklyn, NY 11249 United States (map)

Pique-nique's Unheard series celebrates musical discovery—those spontaneous moments when artists listen deeply to each other and let curiosity guide the sound. Join us for an evening of unrehearsed musical conversation, where freedom takes form and sound takes shape. For this special Unheard performance at Domino Park, Emilio Modeste will invite a group of multi-instrumentalists to create two fully improvised sets under the open sky.

Emilio Modeste is a tenor saxophonist and composer based in New York City. He spent his early career as saxophonist in the Wallace Roney Quintet and has shared the bandstand with Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Gary Bartz, and Patrice Rushen, among many others. Today he leads INSTANT ALTER — a project inspired by the genre-bending jazz-rock bands of the past as well as the radical spirit of psychedelia and Brazilian tropicália — and tours with Stanley Clarke and Kassa Overall.
