Digital Content Producer (Part-Time)
~5 hours/week (up to 20 hrs/month) · $35–45/hour · Contract (1099)
Location: Primarily remote, NYC-based preferred for occasional event support
Start Date: Spring 2026
About The Role
Pique-nique is a Brooklyn-based arts organization cultivating artistic expression through new and improvised music. We foster a community of dedicated listeners through one-off performances, artist residencies, live recordings, collaborations, and festivals, as well as two recurring series: Unheard and Take Two, which anchor our work throughout the year.
We are looking for a part-time Digital Content Producer to help Pique-nique consistently capture and share the story of NYC's improvised music scenes across social media and newsletters. This role is hands-on and execution-focused: turning existing documentation and moments from events into timely, thoughtful posts that keep our audience engaged.
This is a great fit for someone with strong taste, fast turnaround instincts, and experience working in music or arts contexts, especially live performance.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
Social Media Publishing: Share thoughtfully-edited Instagram content (feed, stories, reels) that captures improvisational moments, with fast turnaround after events.
Event Promotion & Recaps: Create promotional, day-of, and post-event content that extends the life of performances while honoring their spontaneity and intimacy.
Newsletter Support: Draft and share email newsletters with consistent cadence that center listening and discovery, using founder-provided notes and materials.
Editing & Design: Edit short-form video, prepare images, and create simple graphics using Adobe tools and/or Canva, with an editorial sensibility.
Occasional Event Documentation (NYC-based): Document select NYC events (evenings/weekends) through photos or short video clips, working independently and in real time.
You Bring
1–3 years experience producing digital content for music, arts, or cultural organizations
Comfort editing short-form video and images (Adobe Suite, CapCut, Canva, or similar)
Experience managing Instagram, TikTok and email marketing platforms (Mailchimp or similar)
Copywriting ability with sensitivity to improvised music and experimental arts communities
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
Deep appreciation for jazz, improvised music, and NYC's creative music ecosystem
