Unheard is a music series that explores listening, curiosity, and spontaneity through collaborative improvisation. An artist-in-residence leads three in-the-round performances throughout the year featuring rotating groups of multi-instrumentalists.
For her second edition, South Asian-American vocalist, sitarist, composer and producer Ami Dang invites New York-based Trinidadian tabla player Roshni Samlal who has studied within the Farrukhabad, Benares, and Punjab schools of classical percussion, and Brooklyn-based multimedia artist Camilla Padgitt-Coles who explores the relationship between color, sound, and meditation.
Unheard will be held in a private loft in Greenpoint featuring a vintage 4-point Klipsch sound system and comfortable seating arrangements.
